Music is one of God's greatest gifts to humankind and at St.
Philips we offer that music back to God, by glorifying him
in our worship with voices of all ages. Music has the power
to inspire, to console, to comfort and to heal.
|
Ushers |
Our ushers
extend a friendly welcome to parishioners and visitors at
each service. Working in teams they help seat people, distribute
bulletins, pass the alms basins and assist newcomers in finding
their way around the church grounds. Any confirmed parishioner
may train for this work. |
Eucharistic
Ministers |
Parishioners
are trained and licensed to serve at Eucharists. Eucharistic
Ministers are assigned to assist during Sunday services. |
Altar Guild |
The Altar
Guild is responsible for preparingall things necessary for
the celebration of the Eucharist or any other sacraments and
offices of the church. |
Acolytes |
Any young
person in grades 3-12 may take an active role in worship by
serving as an acolyte. Acolytes are trained and then assigned
to serve, primarily on Sundays, at the 10:00 a.m. service
as well as at festival services. |
Lay Eucharistic
Ministers |
Each
Sunday a parishioner trained in Eucharistic Ministry receives
blessed sacraments that can be taken and given to any homebound
or hospitalized church member. Contact the
church office to request that communion be delivered to you
or a loved one in the parish. |
Lectors |
Parishioners are
recruited and assigned to serve as Sunday lectors and intercessors.
They may be asked to read at any of the four services and
on special occasions. |

| Stewardship |
| Through Stewardship we acknowledge that
the many gifts we have been given are gifts from God. Stewardship
calls us to give back to God, by offering our time and talent
and by making a financial commitment to the church. |
